The People Behind the Pink House

B Happy began as a home with history — originally known as the James’ House, it was built in the 1960s as both a family residence and a resting place for fishermen from all over the world. Like many properties on Green Turtle Cay, it was deeply affected by Hurricane Dorian. But where some saw damage, Billy and Erin Fowler saw potential — and the beginning of something personal.

Longtime lovers of the Bahamas and frequent visitors to Green Turtle Cay, the Fowlers had always felt a deep connection to the island’s unspoiled beauty, welcoming community, and wildlife-rich waters. When they came across the property in 2020, they knew it was meant to be part of their story.

What followed was a three-year labor of love. The Fowlers carefully restored and rebuilt the original structure and added new life to the back cottage — always with the goal of preserving the spirit of the home while making it feel like a true escape.

Today, B Happy is more than just a beach house. It’s a part-time home for the Fowler family and a place where guests — both old friends and new — can slow down, breathe in the ocean air, and experience the peace and charm that makes Green Turtle Cay so special.

Because at the heart of it all, Billy and Erin believe that the best vacations are the ones that feel like coming home.
